Several months ago I posted that I was going to make a smocked dress for my youngest granddaughter. I had all of the supplies in my stash, Nelona cotton for the dress and French laces for the collar and sleeves. It had been many years since I had smocked or done heirloom sewing. The smocking took several weeks but relearning how to do the heirloom sewing had me worried. All in all I'm very pleased with the way the dress turned out and you can see from the photo below my granddaughter is delighted with it!
Some hemming is left to do and then a slip needs to be made and it will be finished!
I don't know what made me wander into your blog but I love what I see and had to let you know. What a totally beautiful dress. You did a terrific job, Diane. So glad I came in. Hugs.
